The final day of the Alaska State Fair is closed following the highest-ever concert attendance.

The Alaska State Fair concluded on Monday at the Palmer fairgrounds following three weekends filled with large crowds, brand-new attractions, and live music. Between stuffing themselves with fair fare, guests participated in a plethora of events, such as a demonstration of cow milking and a performance by 21-year-old Stephen Sanchez in the afternoon, which was the last of 14 fair concerts held at the Conoco Phillips Borealis Theatre. According to Alaska State Fair CEO Jeff Curtis, the attendance record for this year’s concert series was surpassed. According to Curtis, “live music is a huge hit at this fair.” “We’ve always had fantastic concerts, but this year we had a great lineup, more people showing up, and overall, it was a great time at this event.”

The Alaska State Fair delivered once again, offering something for everyone, from all of the classic rides and games to traditional fair cuisine and even brand-new newborn pigs. Kent Scheible, a longtime Palmer resident, loves spending time at the fair with his boys, Logan and Liam. “Our purpose is to enjoy a family day together, spending quality time together, enjoying delicious food, and getting ready to ride some rides,” stated Scheible. We are visiting for the first time this year. We had a hectic summer, but we usually visit several times a year. When not working concessions, Charlie Grimm of Big Lake also enjoyed the fair with his family.
