Highway Patrol looks into a double-fatality collision, closing US-60 A Chattanooga, Tennessee, man and a lady who were riding in the same car together perished.

Due to a double-fatal crash that occurred Friday afternoon, those traveling along US-60 east of Springfield most likely experienced delays and a detour.

Under the direction of Sgt. M.K. Eden, the Major Crash Investigation Unit (MCIU) was dispatched to reconstruct and investigate the incident. Christopher Thomas, 42, was riding along in the 2004 Ford Explorer driven by 31-year-old Larae English. The two were from the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area, and both were pronounced dead by Texas County, Missouri, coroner’s office personnel.

MoDOT created a diversion onto the Cabool commercial route.
