Players deserve more: Former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh blasts NCAA over payments of players: Buckeye Breakfast

by admin

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jim Harbaugh might be coaching in the NFL now, but that doesn’t mean his crusade is done with the NCAA. In a story earlier this week on ESPN, Harbaugh told Kris Rhim exactly how he feels about the NCAA. They’ve been keeping money away from players for decades. They just got hit with a $2.7 billion lawsuit,” Harbaugh told ESPN. “They have no credibility. That’s the truth.”

Harbaugh, and Michigan, are under NCAA investigation for the sign-stealing scheme that was centered around former team staffer Connor Stalions. Harbaugh is also facing a four-year show-cause penalty from the NCAA for an investigation into recruiting violations in 2021. The penalty runs through August 2028 and includes a one-year ban, should he return to the sport before then.

This isn’t the first time Harbaugh has taken a stance against the NCAA and in favor of payments of players, as he noted in January about how college athletics are “robbing from the same train.”

The NCAA and Harbaugh aren’t done yet, and it’s clear he’s not going to back down any time soon.
